Father and son company ASK were my contractors when I renovated by co-op (2 bedrooms, just over 1000 sq ft) and they were thoughtful and professional from start to finish. They brought very competent subs with them, and despite some unavoidable construction setbacks due to weather, the project went quickly. Whenever I have a problem with something in the apartment, they are responsive and send someone over (or come themselves) right away. I could not have been more pleased with the work they did, and continue to do, in my apartment.

A.S.K. was great to work with - very responsive to my concerns and efficient and prompt with all the work that had to be done. When I had unexpected water damage and was concerned about the fixtures and mold developing, they came out immediately and devised a strategy for rectifying the problem and preventing any further damage. We replaced our countertop and backsplash etc with caesarstone and new tiling and came it out beautifully; all renovations were done in a timely fashion. I'm glad to see a greater presence on the internet for them: A.S.K. is a good-hearted family company that surely deserves your consideration.

I first hired this contractor, a father-and-son team, in 2000 for a major apartment renovation in New York City, then rehired them in 2003 for a major house renovation in Connecticut. They have worked for me since on many follow-up jobs. They are remarkable for the honesty and reasonableness of their quotations, their gentlemanly courtesy, and uncomplaining patience. On several occasions they have actually declined to charge me for adjustments when I have changed my mind. The quality of their work is high. My only complaint is that they sometimes rely on memory for various requests, instead of taking notes at the time, but a reminder always brings a prompt response. I should add that the total renovation A.S.K. performed on my apartment in New York (turning a decayed 90-year-old duplex into a contemporary free-flow space) resulted in it being featured and illustrated in a glossy book entitled "Windows on the Park: New York’s Most Prestigious Properties"
